Hot Dip Galvanizing National Qualifications

The Hot Dip Galvanizing National Qualifications have been designed by people in the industry for the industry. The National Qualifications are registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) framework.

Qualifications may consist of:
- Compulsory Unit Standards (units you have to learn and achieve)
- Elective Unit Standards (units that you choose from at the required level and credits)

Unit Standard Sector Guide - This is a list of all the units in the Hot Dip Galvanizing industry. Hopefully this will help you select Elective units in qualifications that require units from anywhere on the framework.

Limited Credit Programme - Hot Dip Galvanizing

In 2010 the Limited Credit Programme (LCP) in Hot Dip Galvanizing (Basic Process Knowledge) was registered. This is a small package of units from the National Certificate at Level 2 that trainees can achieve and receive a certificate for. The LCP is designed as a taster to lead into achieving Level 2. The units required are:

Introduction to Hot Dip Galvanizing CD

The Protective Coatings Sector Advisory Group along with EXITO have released a CD about Galvanizing. The CD covers five Galvanizing unit standards and is designed to support learning leading to assessment for the LCP and Level 2. There are photos, slides and video, plus self tests to help you learn.
